So what Greene was saying in that chapter essentially was (and the problem with audiobooks--yes, I bought it off of Audible, I'm not cheap--is you can't bookmark a spot) how some remnants of the great big universe-creating explosion of the Big Bang can still be observed today. How 1% of the white noise you get on TV sets when you're tuned in to a channel that has stopped broadcasting is actually the radiation given off by the universe at the specific moment it was born.
I don't know about you but that just about blows my mind.
