Cosmic Encounters

E ang malupit lang sa Sabadong ito apart from galing akong dentista kahit running on empty na sa tulog at nanggaling pa sa bahay ni Hotbod dahil nanood kami ng "I Am Legend" ay kung paanong ngayon ko pa lang pinapanood yung mga last year (wink) ko pa na-download na mga IMAX specials for National Geographic.

At eto pa ang mga resulta ng isa sa mga natenggang items for research nung nagLa Mesa Dam kami ni Biggie: oo, goldfish may grow to a maximum length of 32 inches (59 cm) and a maximum weight of 9.9 pounds (4.5 kg). Isa pang factoid: a group of goldfish is known as a troubling.

yet another geek attack

so ang ipis ba ay qualified as bacteria? dahil sa chismis na ito ay buhay pa kahit magkanuclear holocaust...
at diba nabubuhay pa sila kahit pukpukin? a little pututoy (birdie) told me that the ipis' head and body can function separately for seven days more after nilang magkawalay...after seven days..ewan ko na.

The cockroach's ability to withstand radiation better than human beings can be explained in terms of the cell cycle. Cells are more vulnerable to effects of radiation when they are dividing. A cockroach's cells divide only once when in its molting cycle, which at most happens weekly in a juvenile roach. The cells of the cockroach take roughly 48 hours to complete a molting cycle, which would give time enough for radiation to affect it but not all cockroaches would be molting at the same time. This would mean some would be unaffected by the initial radiation and thus survive, at least until the fallout arrived."
